Meet the doctors
Dr. Miriam Dickson
Psychiatrist
Dr. Dickson specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Prior to her work with Sulzbacher, she took care of patients at Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Nemours Children’s Clinic. She is bilingual as she received her Doctor of Medicine from the Universidad Tecnológica del Cibao in Dominican Republic and completed her medical residency at Larkin General Hospital in Miami as well as a two-year fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has special interest in neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism and ADHD and patients struggling with disruptive behaviors.
Dr. Amy Hardman
Pediatrician
Dr. Hardman is a board-certified pediatrician with more than 20 years of experience in pediatric practice. She specializes in care of children with complex medical needs and cardiac anomalies, as well as general preventive care. Dr Hardman received her medical degree and did her pediatric residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. She did additional training in pediatric cardiology at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston prior to moving to Jacksonville, Fla. to work at Carithers Pediatrics followed by the Bower Lyman Center for Medically Complex Children. She served on the board of directors at Sulzbacher for more than seven years prior to joining the staff in 2023.
Dr. Jasmine Shayka
Dentist
Born and raised in Nepal, Dr. Shakya’s unwavering passion for oral health care led her to achieve academic excellence at the prestigious University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Driven by a deep-rooted sense of responsibility toward community, she actively participates in various outreach programs providing dental care to underserved populations. Through these initiatives, she strives to create a positive impact and improve the overall well-being of those in need.
Dr. Annamarie Sullivan
Optometrist
Dr. Sullivan has more than 10 years of experience providing primary eye care to adult and pediatric patients. She received a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry from Indiana University and went on to obtain her Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry. Prior to joining Sulzbacher in 2017, she worked in the ophthalmology practice of a large multispeciality clinic in South Bend, Ind. and then at a local ophthalmology practice in Jacksonville.
Dr. Shelly Thompson
Medical Director, Pediatrician
A Jacksonville, Fla., native, Dr. Thompson has enjoyed serving the children and families of this community for more than 30 years. She received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Florida College of Medicine and completed her residency at the Jacksonville Health Education Programs. She has worked in private practice, the Florida Department of Health and the University of Florida Jacksonville. She specializes in generalized preventive medicine with interests in childhood obesity and asthma.
